The final layer of concrete has been poured on the roof of Block 45, the largest affordable housing development to be constructed in Portland in the past 50 years. The 12-story building will provide 240 units of housing to an underserved community of Portland residents in the growing Lloyd District.

The project also seeks to contribute to the urban fabric of the area. In an interview with the Daily Journal of Commerce, Home Forward representative Julie Livingston (local housing authority and owners of the building) commented on the project's addition to this busy commercial neighborhood: “This building does a lot to create an active streetscape in a neighborhood that does not have a strong active ground floor from block to block. This is doing a lot to push Lloyd forward in its urban development.”
