Climate Smart Wood Group supports North American construction industries in obtaining eco-friendly wood products sourced from forests using climate smart practices and from reclaimed sources. These selections aid in utilizing forests as natural climate solutions, enhancing forest resilience, and reducing environmental impacts. Emphasizing equity and climate justice, the initiative prioritizes community well-being and respects Indigenous Peoples' rights.

Comprising a coalition of conservation, scientific, green building, and forest sector organizations, Climate Smart Wood Group offers practical, science-based solutions to empower the construction sector in utilizing wood and forests to combat climate change. Through procurement guidelines, developers and designers are assisted in informing specifications, refining project goals, and navigating supply chains to meet their project needs.

LEVER has proudly joined Climate Smart Wood Group as one of its inaugural members. With a focus on addressing the challenges of sourcing sustainable wood products within the AEC industry, LEVER team members Timothy Cooke and Johan Wijesinghe, have actively participated in this process, leveraging their expertise to help develop procurement guidelines that effectively address industry uncertainties.
