Dana Street
Multi-family housing that is inspired by regional materials and a connection to the landscape.
The housing development at Dana Street celebrates Maine’s tradition of timber craft. Sitting on the banks of the Presumpscot River, the project is positioned to activate the water’s edge by enhancing the pedestrian experience along the riverfront circuit. This site will tie into the city-wide network of connected park spaces and will link Westbrook’s commercial thoroughfare to the water’s edge. From ground floor amenities to the roof terrace, residents will benefit from having ample sunlight and clear views to the nearby falls and a soon-to-be-built park. The interior design uses natural materials and subtle hues to complement framed views of the river. The building’s massing ranges from 5-6 stories and is profiled to mimic the nearby river’s natural edge. The volumes pull apart to bring light into the corridors and give residents views of the water.
